Briana's Notes:
Even though you can't see it here, the reason Diyero can tell his dad got remarried is this:
In Duendai wedding tradition, half of a sacred symbol is tattooed inside the left-hand palm of the groom, while the other half of the symbol is tattooed on the right-hand palm of the bride. The symbol is only complete when their hands touch. In addition, each of them has a band tattooed around their ring finger of the same hand with the palm tattoo. This identifies them as married, even when their palm isn't visible. When someone remarries (usually after being widowed; divorce is rare), the symbol on their palm is modified, and a second band is tattooed above the first band on their hand.
So, Diyero can tell by looking at his father's hand tattoos that he's remarried.
