So, little half-brother is Azize. It means "powerful/beloved." Looks like Diyero's happy with having a stepmother and stepbrother!
The reason Diyero's not more shocked/reactionary here as one might think is culture related: In Duendo society, it's
highly unusual for a person to remain single after being widowed for longer than a year or two.
Remember, Diyero told Kalanu his mother is dead. So, Diyero, knowing that on the chance his father was alive, would also expect him to evetually remarry and start another family. The stepmother and half-brother aren't complete surprises to him, in a way.
