My buddy Jermaine appears again in panel 1 (the "light-skinned" Duendo in the center)! This time accompanied by his wife and son (who was also in a previous page). If you're wondering why Jermaine is bald here when it's generally only children who don't have hair, the reasons for this are twofold: 1. He's bald in real life, so I wanted his in-comic representation to be more accurate than the flashback one; 2. While baldness is associated with childhood, sometimes adult Duendo shave their heads as a sign of mourning. You can take Jermaine's RM-counterpart as being bald in reverance of those who died during the slaver raid.
One more cameo of note in panel one: The guy to the left of Jermaine seem familiar? He's the grown-up version of
this kiddo! Yup, he got out of the raid just fine. :) Also, if you couldn't tell: The wee one right next to him with the similar skintone is his son. D'aaaw.
