While Diyero and Fayte didn't interact much last time, Fayte is really good at remembering faces. His memory of Diyero's looks and demeanor fit the descriptions of the "Rune Master" floating around and thus he put two and two together. Though Diyero did mostly grumble at him about a broken beer bottle back in Valle, the good things Fayte's heard about Diyero outweighs the alcoholic aspects of the demon slayer; the good Diyero's done is something Fayte respects, character flaws (past or present) aside.
