Q & A

Q: When do you update?
A: We generally update one page a day Monday through Friday at around 12:00 a.m-3:00 a.m. EST/EDT, but it may not always work out that way. Briana's a junior art major in college, so that can get in the way of things at times. So far, however, updates have remained consistant.

Q: What do you draw the comics with?
A: Briana uses Col-erase blue/red/purple or non-photo blue drafting pencils to draw with, and a 9"x12" Strathmore sketchbook to draw on. She inks with Sakura micron and brush pens.

Q: How do you pronounce the main characters' names?
A: The proper pronounciation for the main RM crew is as follows:
Diyero Rube -- dee-yeah-row (NOT die-yeah-row!) roo-bay (NOT "roob")
Kogeru Yubi-- koh-geh-roo you-bee
Mushin Kido-- moo-shin kee-doh
Myron Zorba-- my-run zor-bah
Hikari -- hee-kah-ree

Minor characters with odd names use the following pronunciation:
Fayte -- fate

Q: What's up with Diyero's face?
A: He's Half-Duendo, meaning he comes from Duendai lands. They're a tribal people that tattoo themselves, so the markings on his face (and body) are tattoos.

Q: All right, fine. So then what's up with Diyero's hair? His eyebrows are black, but his hair's red!
A: He's naturally black-haired, but he dyes the top of his head red.

Q: Okay... Why?
A: It's another Duendai tradition -- the men dye their hair red as adults; the women, a golden yellow. They only dye the hair on the top of their head -- not any facial hair.

Q: Why do you always forget to draw Mushin?
A: Briana doesn't forget to draw her -- she just has trouble fitting her in panels when most of the characters are a good two feet or more taller than her right now. Trust us, she's there.

Q: Are you that person that used to do Samurai BANZAI?
A: Yes. Briana did write and draw Samurai BANZAI! several years ago, and the character Megumi was based off of Carissa's goofiness. It wasn't a very successful venture into webcomics, other than it was a huge learning experience. While RM's art still isn't as pretty and consistant as Briana would like it to be, it's leaps and bounds better than what was in BANZAI!, so she doesn't really mention it much.
